Sothea was tasked with completely remodeling a two-level, three-bedroom apartment on the fourth and fifth floors of a traditional shophouse near Phnom Penh's Central Market. The homeowner asked for more color in the house, which Sothea added through flashes and detailing in the various bedrooms and spaces. The design also incorporated sliding wood-steel shades to block out bright sunlight or add privacy to the living quarters.

In order to fully update the original apartment and add more comfortable bedrooms, Sothea opened up the floor plan by combining the kitchen, dining area, and living room downstairs. He also created two separate bedrooms and showers upstairs while opening up a shared salon area with balcony access and street view. This required the transformation of the upper attic-like space into a comfortable living space.

Sothea completely modernized the original apartment by opening up the central living and dining area, providing more light and style to the bed and bathrooms, and adding specially-designed features such as wrought iron window frames and the wood-steel trellises on the outside balconies.

The apartment is located on Street 53 near Phnom Penh's Central Market (Psar Thmey).
